George Pope

George’s experience of organising training events, for trade unions, community and campaigning groups is spread over 30 years.

He has devised training programmes for national and local trade unions around organising, leadership and management, health and safety and many other issues, including pensions, equalities and politics. He is currently working with the National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT) as an education consultant.

With community groups, he has set up activist training around welfare rights, community organising and political campaigning.

His own political engagement working for MPs has also involved plenty of organising training around electioneering and voter engagement.

George has a real passion for running “train the trainers” courses for a huge variety of people wanting to tutor courses themselves, whether in his local community, with national campaigns and unions, or in Tanzania with Fairtrade International.

When not training, George can be found cycling, walking or roaming Europe in his campervan.
